Malice Domestic 29 having come to an end three days ago, it's time to begin making plans to attend...Malice Domestic 30. It will be held April 27-29, 2018, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, MD.
It's going to be quite an affair.
The Guest of Honor will be Canadian author Louise Penny - the winner of this year's Agatha Award for Best Contemporary Novel, for her novel, A Great Reckoning.
The Toastmaster will be Catriona McPherson, who took home the Agatha for Best Historical Novel, for The Reek of Red Herrings.
The Lifetime Achievement Agatha Award will be presented to author Nancy Pickard.
There's more - a lot more - including other honorees, and you can read about it at the Malice website (linked above). As noted above, the conference is moving next year to a new hotel. My wife and I have already registered - and I sincerely hope that any of you who love traditional mysteries will join us in Bethesda next Spring. The conference is intended as a way to bring authors together with their readers, with the focus very much on the fans - expect somewhere around 200 authors and three or four hundred readers. Lively conversations, interesting panels on all mystery-related subjects, the Agatha Awards, Charity auctions - what's not to like? Please join us!
