The arrival of a (still relatively) new month means another chance for Mike Ripley to come out with a new Getting Away with Murder column for the Shots ezine.
Included for consideration this month: book launches and parties; a preview of "Iceland Noir"; Other Scandinavian Crime-related items; famous Belgians, with some exciting news about Simenon reissues; word about a variety of new books and anthologies; Another Peter Wimsey book (the fourth, I believe) from Jill Paton Walsh; other news of "continuation fiction" - including the Ripster's own entry into the field, with a new Albert Campion which he has written - or, rather, completed the unfinished manuscript left by Margery Allingham's widower.
My attention was also drawn (via an email from Ripley) to the republication of two novels featuring fictional secret agent David Callan, created in 1967 by James Mitchell. Ripley says if those re-releases are successful, we may see more in the pipeline, including, he says, "several surprises" next year.
It's all done in Ripley's usual style, tongue generally planted firmly in his cheek.
