Here's a little something to keep you awake tonight. John, the (usually) genial host of the Pretty Sinister Books blog, has come up with a challenging - all right, fiendish - quiz about vintage mysteries. He's offering some prizes for the people who submit the most correct answers.
Follow this link to see the quiz and find details on how to enter. There are a lot of tough questions (yes, tough, John. Don't argue), but readers of this blog or other blogs that focus on traditional and vintage mysteries should do reasonably well. What are you waiting for?
Hat tip: Yvette's "In So Many Words" blog.
Thanks for the plug, Les. I admit that I went overboard with some toughies. And my moods are in a constant state of flux. Trying to remedy that "(usually) genial" problem of mine. ;^)

Are you entering, Les? I should hope so. There aren't many of us who know more about Vintage than you. You'll have the head start, for sure. :)
P.S. I'm reading my first Cyril Hare book. Did I read about him on your blog? Or John's? Who know. It's all good.

John, this is fun - I'm working out my copy of "Detectionary," along with the usual Googling and the other books I have in my library. But some of them are indeed toughies. I'll be entering - in the next few days, as I find more answers...(grumbles his way back into the book room...)

Yvette, I'll be entering - eventually. There are some tough ones here, particularly in the relationships between some of the books. This is particularly true as I've reached a point in life where I have to really think hard about the plots of books I have read in the past. Much of my reading now is of authors who are back in print again, as I try to limit my podcast reviews to readily available books. However, I've just discovered on Amazon that Cyril Hare apparently DOES have some books in print - so it's time for me to start digging some out...sigh...that TBR pile is going to fall on me one of these days...
