Dear readers: are you members of 4MA? That's the familiar name for Yahoo's "For Mystery Addicts" newsgroup, a very active discussion group where you can talk about all kinds of mysteries. The real key here is "all kinds." Whether you love classic and traditional mysteries (which I assume is why you're here!) or prefer new mysteries by new authors, thrillers, cozies, procedurals, private eyes, amateurs, forensic thrillers, historicals, hard-boiled, soft-boiled - whatever, you'll find people discussing them (and willing to talk to you about them). If nothing else, you'll certainly find some great suggestions for books you might enjoy.
One reason why I mention it is that October is Classics Month on 4MA. We just wound up a discussion over there about Wilkie Collins's "The Moonstone," which I reviewed here last year. More to the point, between October 20th and 30th, I'll be leading a discussion about Edmund Crispin's "The Moving Toyshop."I've written about that one here as well - it's a fine book (though not my favorite Crispin!) and, I would (and will) argue, an excellent example of many of the strengths of the traditional mystery. I hope some of you will join me over there beginning this Thursday and take part in the discussion. The URL for the group is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/4_Mystery_Addicts/
I'll be there. :)

I think I forgot. Sorry, Les. But I'll be over there to look around today. Promise. :)
