According to the voters, the world's favorite amateur detective is...
Carter Ross.
Carter who?
Carter Ross has appeared in two books (so far, I think) from Brad Parks. I haven't read him. Yet.
According to Jen Forbus, who created and hosted the contest at Jen's Book Thoughts, Carter Ross beat out Miss Marple. Out of 428 votes cast, Ross had 308 to just 120 for Miss Marple, a 78%-22% win.
Better luck next time, fellow traditionalists. But congratulations to Brad Parks and to Carter Ross.
This is absurd. If I've never heard of this guy he doesn't exist. HAHA!! Nobody'g a better detective than Jane Marple. Humpf!

It's certainly no surprise, Yvette, to hear that I was rooting for (and voting for, too) Miss Marple. I haven't read either of the Parks books - perhaps I'd better do so and get some idea how good the books really are.
