First things first: let me wish my readers and listeners a happy, healthy and peaceful new year in 2011. New year's resolutions are generally made to be broken, alas, but I hope that you'll make - and keep - a resolution to read more of the traditional mysteries reviewed here. For that matter, I hope that you'll be reading more mysteries overall.
With that in mind, I'd like to remind you that this blog will be participating in the Vintage Mystery Reading Challenge this year. As the challenge is to read even more of the traditional mysteries which are featured both on the podcast and in the blog, I am looking forward to exceeding the number of books I have promised to read for the challenge, beginning with Monday's podcast here. If you're interested, here's the list I posted of the books I will be reading as part of this challenge; I fully intend to read even more pre-1960 masterpieces as well.
Even more important, I hope some of you will be moved to join in. You can sign up to read as many - or as few - "vintage mysteries" as you like. You don't have to be a blogger, just go to the My Reader's Block blog and sign up for the challenge.
Okay, the Challenge has begun. I've already started CAT OF MANY TAILS by Ellergy Queen. :)

I think you'll really enjoy "Cat," Yvette. Serial killers have become "old hat" in today's mysteries, but "Cat" is quite different, with the usual Queen touches and fair play to the reader.
